An early Weekend Tech and Financial News # 3A:

1.  By next summer, there will be a Currency Battle between the U.S. Dollar, the Japanese Yen and the Chinese Yuan.  This is all to realign and making realistic the value of each country’s currency.  So, expect the FED to raise the Fed Funds Rate slightly to meet the Chinese halfway.  Also, China and the US are both trying to create/restore their own Consumer Spending to rely less on Exports/Imports.  This should provide a much needed equalization and create a long running Economic Growth Environment for our entire planet.  (It’s in the best interest for all countries and the Chinese are beginning to realize this.)   Soon, China may have a Housing Bubble Meltdown, which would hurt Shanghai and Hong Kong real estate if this were not a soft equalization of our major currencies (US Dollar and Chinese Yuan).   A Meltdown of the Chinese Real Estate Market would be a horrifying albeit interesting turn of events.  This is how the Japanese got screwed back in the 1980’s when they thought they could out-do America. (Japanese Real Estate Blowup)

Bottom-Line:  The Value of each country’s Currencies is a Bargaining Tool now and a way to cajole each other.

2.  When the Dollar goes up; Gold goes down and so does the Stock Market – hence, it’s all a Balancing Act between the value of the Dollar to Foreign Currencies, the value of Gold, and the Stock Market – All based on Consumer Spending.

3.  Both AT&T and Verizon Broadband Accounts costs between $ 35 to $ 60 per month.

They have little Broadband Cards that resemble USB Memory Stick, which can be bought and plugged into a USB port to give you Internet Access anywhere/everywhere.  Keep your eye on Broadband as it evolves. On my trip across America, iPhone Broadband was fairly strong everywhere. (Surprising)

4. When the new iPhone and/or Apple Tablet “The Slate” comes out next summer, I’ll be the first person to buy it and switch to Verizon.  However, watch for hidden Fees on your Verizon Bill each month—happening far too much.

5.  The Apple Tablet (The Slate) will not be on sold till the 2nd half of 2010 and cost between $ 1,500 and $ 2,000.  You can buy it with a TFT Screen or the new brighter Screen called:  OLED.  If you recall Star Trek-The Next Generation, you often see the Enterprise Engineers walking around with Tablets that they push Icon buttons on.  That’s the concept of the new Apple Tablet.  A cross between an iPhone/PC/eReader.  Steve Jobs of Apple must watch Star Trek as he recuperates from his Liver Transplant.

6.  A Quote I read, “Soon, the iPhone will be the Center of the World!”

The two best things in the World are:  Pie and an iPhone.  3rd is a big Bank Account.  If you want to develop iPhone Apps, read:  http://mattgemmell.com/2009/07/14/iphone-development-emergency-guide

a.  You have to use a Mac to develop iPhone apps. Specifically, you need an Intel Mac.

b.  You’ll need the iPhone SDK, which is free from Apple when you sign up as an iPhone Developer.
     c.  You should use the XCode Developer Tool.  It’s like Visual Studio for .Net.
     d.  iPhone Apps are written in Objective-C.  It’s C with lots of Object Methods.
     e.  The iPhone Developer site is:  http://developer.apple.com/iphone f.   You have to pay $ 99 per year to get a License to test your new App on your iPhone
and to submit your new App to the iPhone/iTunes App Store for review and approval.  Note:  There are 100,000 iPhone Apps; so, somebody figured out how to write the Apps.

Next Week’s News:  Windows 7 Review, more Financial News.

A Quote from Tom Petty, the Rock & Roll Singer:
“If you’re not getting Older, you’re Dead.”

Weekend Tech and Financial News# 2:

Again, download the iPhone Apps:  CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, Time, USA Today and the TV.com (CNET) and you can be as smart as me.

1.  The early glimpses and photos of the new Apple Tablet called The Slate are intriguing – about 7 to 9 inches – eReader size.

2.  www.Discovercard.com has a new iPhone Browser look in which you can nicely see your recent charges and summary of your Discover Card Acct.

It displays very nicely on an iPhone and allows you to easily monitor
your recent ever-increasing Discover Card Charges. The Browser Screen has a nice look and feel.

3.  The www.Discoverbank.com has one of the best Money Market Interest Rates in the country.

On their Home Page is a Slide Bar Calculator that shows:
If you park $ 100,000 dollars in a Money Market for 5 years at a current great Rate of 1.64 %, you only get $ 8,500 dollars at the end of 5 long and patient years.

In other words, your Money can’t even make Money these days.  (Woe is me.)

(That’s what 2 Wars against Islam will do – bankrupt you.)  Money can’t make Money anymore.  War is no longer profitable - War is now passé’ along with:  Kids, Debt, High Living and Doctors.

Not to mention:  A Pay Raise at work.

4.   The new Windows 7 has two versions:  Home ($147) and Professional ($199).  The new little Net Books come with Windows 7 Starter Kit, which expires in about two months      after you buy it – forcing you to buy the real Windows 7.

5.    In the 1980′s, Japan collapsed their economy by Real Estate Speculation and Over-Valuing.  We collapsed our economy over Real Estate Derivative Greed and now the Arabs in Dubai have done the same thing.  (When will people learn that Real Estate is not that great of an investment.)?

Two-thirds of American Homes are upside down in their Mortgage.  They owe more on their Home than
they can sell it for. It would cost most Americans a fortune to disengage/unload the Albatross they call a Home.

6.    I will predict that Obama’s speech on Tuesday about more troops for Afghanistan will increase
inflation worries and doom his re-election.  He won’t get my vote again until he gets out of the Middle East.

The only way to win in the Middle East is to get Russia and China to reign in the Arabs.  China needs to help us defeat Islam; so, we can pay back our Debt to China with stronger Dollars.

The American Army CANNOT defeat Islam by themselves.  The Dollar is dropping like a rock due to America trying to fix the entire World by ourselves.  We need Global Political Partners. (China)
